「日本經濟新聞」報導，理化研究所（理研）、尼康（Nikon）等共同開發低成本的誘導性多功能幹細胞（iPS細胞）再生醫療技術，2017年度確立移植用細胞膜片的量產技術。

iPS細胞再生醫療是從iPS細胞培養出成為視網膜、心臟的心肌等組織的細胞膜片。理研今年夏天已開始進行全球首例治療罕見眼疾的臨床研究。

為防止出現排斥反應，視網膜的細胞膜片由患者本人的iPS細胞製成，但需花10個月的時間，無法立刻用於治療。

京都大學教授山中伸彌擔任所長的京都大學iPS細胞研究所接受日本政府的支助，正計畫進行儲備安全性高的iPS細胞，這種細胞除了運用於病患本身之外，移植到他人身上也可防止出現排斥反應。

理研和尼康計畫共同開發的技術就是將京大教授山中等人所儲存的iPS細胞大量生產出細胞膜片，如此一來，可較迅速、且以低成本將細胞膜片運用於更多患者身上。

理研的創投公司日本網膜研究所公司（位於福岡市）、尼康、澀谷工業公司等將共同開發出量產的設備。這項計畫將獲經濟產業省的研究費補助，正考慮將研究設備設於理研的發生暨再生科學綜合研究中心（位於神戶市）。

日本政府考慮讓iPS細胞再生醫療手續能簡化，快則2020年代初期可進行實際的醫療行為。

細胞膜片量產的話，醫療費可壓低在100萬日圓（約新台幣31萬元）以下，是目前預估金額的1/10。

日本經產省估計，再生醫療的全球市場2012年為3400億日圓，到了2030年將增為17兆2000億日圓，日本政府將尖端醫療列為經濟成長的重要支柱，考慮輔導細胞膜片量產研究。

正在上海舉行的2013上海書展目前已接近一半時間，從面向青少年讀者的新版「十萬個為什麼」，到目標群為科學愛好者的科普名著，都在上海書展銷量可觀。名家站台的相關講座和簽售更是人氣火爆。

昨天上午9時許，儘管書展開放進場不久，中科院知名粒子物理學家邢志忠「關於希格斯粒子」的講座已經擠滿了觀眾。這一神秘的「上帝粒子」已經讓科學家苦苦尋找了幾十年，花費數十億美元，2012年剛被發現。邢志忠在現場簡要介紹這一粒子，並對其能否奪取今年的諾貝爾物理學獎進行預測。

上海交通大學出版社出版的「孟山都眼中的世界」，自首發後就收到讀者的熱烈關注。出版方編輯李學良介紹，書中揭示的部分商業化生物技術尚未通過嚴格科學論證的事實、及其在全球各地造成的傷害可謂怵目驚心。由於大陸對轉基因技術和進口食品日益開放的態度，使得許多關心自身食品安全問題的讀者關注此書。

今年上海書展最熱的科普讀物還要數最新出版的第六版「十萬個為什麼」。每天下午都能在書展會場外，看到工作人員將上百個「十萬個為什麼」快遞箱逐一裝上卡車。據透露，除了現場購買，大部分是各地讀者通過網路訂購，因為這套書目前只在書展上銷售。

業界人士認為，科普書不僅僅是孩子的專利，摒棄功利心的科普閱讀能激發民眾探索精神，對於提升全民科學素養都有裨益。
