長庚研究發現馬兜鈴酸致癌機轉 登國際期刊

【張博亭／台北報導】許多人都知道馬兜鈴會致癌，但不曉得其中的機轉，林口長庚醫院泌尿腫瘤科醫師馮思中表示，研究發現馬兜鈴酸引起泌尿道上皮癌的基因突變率高達150(單位：突變/百萬鹼基對)，比抽菸引起肺癌的8，以及紫外線引起的皮膚黑色瘤的111都還高。這次以次世代全基因定序來分析9位泌尿道上皮癌患者的病理切片，發現馬兜鈴酸的基因突變能力特強，容易致癌，此研究已於今日發表於美國知名的《科學轉譯醫學期刊》(Science Translational Medicine)。
馮思中表示，長庚團隊與新加坡國立癌症中心合作，抽樣9位因馬兜鈴酸中毒造成泌尿道上皮癌患者的癌細胞切片，作基因分析，發現馬兜鈴酸造成的基因突變率高，且有一定的鹼基改變順序。後來團隊餵食老鼠3天的馬兜鈴酸，在3個月後找到相似於癌症患者的基因突變，顯示馬兜鈴的致癌性強。
馮思中說，泌尿道上皮癌在台灣約佔所有腎癌的40%，晚期存活率不到3成，所以找到馬兜鈴酸致癌的機轉，變有助於未來再去研究如何降低馬兜鈴酸對人體傷害的方式。如果民眾有出現無痛性血尿、或者腎臟摸到硬塊，應盡速就醫，檢查是否得到腎癌。

黑莓傳考慮私有化 早盤股價飆漲逾7%

【賴宇萍╱綜合外電報導】路透引述消息人士報導，智慧手機商黑莓（BlackBerry）為扭轉營運頹勢，正醞釀將公司私有化，以爭取喘息空間，在避開公眾注意力的狀況下，解決內部問題，以便重整旗鼓，積極搶進競爭激烈的智慧手機市場。私有化消息，激勵黑莓早盤股價一度大漲7.1%。 黑莓原本寄望靠著搭配新操作平台BlackBerry 10的新機翻身，但市場反應冷淡，拖累黑莓股價直直落，截至周四為止，今年來股價跌幅高達22%。 據路透報導，黑莓執行長海因斯（Thorsten Heins）與董事會愈來愈傾向於接受私有化的作法。不過報導中指出，黑莓仍未啟動任何出售程序，要找到買家與私有化所需資金也並非易事，因

三D壁畫 林北水牛吸睛

〔自由時報記者黃淑莉、廖淑玲／綜合報導〕水牛怎麼跑到牆上？林內彭厝菸樓牆壁的三Ｄ動畫，栩栩如生吸引許多遊客駐足留影。
林內鄉林北社區曾是國內重要種植菸葉產地之一，全盛時期境內有多座菸樓，產業沒落後荒廢，社區積極整修荒廢菸樓再利用，縣府文化處指出，雲林縣社區產業文化發展協會去年向客家委員會爭取經費，以雇工購料方式，將彭厝的菸樓改建為客家文化館。
文化處表示，繼邀請藝術家吳仲宗在林北社區完成「心手相連愛林北」涵洞壁畫，月前又邀請藝青會進駐，為社區進行充滿創意、互動、趣味的三Ｄ壁畫創作，負責作畫的藝術家Sinic來自香港，已有十年街頭藝術創作經驗，遊遍東南亞各國尋找作畫靈感，一年前走訪林北社區，對當地寧靜、純樸的田園風光留下極好印象。
Sinic把平日所見景物融入創作，例如水牛耕田、農婦插秧及田間景致，三Ｄ壁畫創作栩栩如生，令造訪的遊客驚豔。
另外，口湖鄉公所與縣議員蔡孟真服務處聯合舉辦「畫我故鄉」活動，特別邀請師大美術系畢業、水林國中代理美術老師呂宜翟等人現場教學，尤其凡是鄉內弱勢家庭孩子，都特別安排公所幸福專家接送，備受肯定。

震撼畫面！100萬根白骨 占滿白宮抗議廣場

在這張照片中，總共有100萬根來自世界各地的學童和藝術家親手製作的骨頭，他們一根一根地被擺放在國會大廈和華盛頓紀念碑中央的國家廣場上；這場活動是由TED Fellow 成員Naomi Natale計劃五年，終於在今年六月八日到十日之間達到了整個抗議行動的最高潮。
Naomi Natale本身是藝術家、攝影師並從事裝置藝術，她同時也是TED Fellow的成員；從2008年開始，她發起了「百萬根骨頭」計劃，希望從各地募得100萬根人們親手做的骨頭，並在2013年時將他們擺放在華盛頓特區的國家廣場上。

抗議什麼？
他們抗議的是那些在蘇丹共和國、南蘇丹共和國、剛果民主共和國、緬甸、敘利亞還有索馬利亞持續的、難以想像的大規模暴行。
以十年前發生在達佛的事件為例，當時蘇丹政府展開了一場對達佛人民的屠殺，超過300,000人死亡，2,500,000人流離失所，讓人覺得不可思議的是，蘇丹領導人奧馬爾．巴希爾雖然已經被國際犯罪法庭以種族滅絕罪和危害人類罪起訴，但他的政權現在仍屹立不搖。
