【綜合報導】鑽石恆久遠，似乎正好印證在辛巴威現任總統穆加比（Robert Mugabe）身上。

7月31日的總統大選中，穆加比第七度當選總統，根據英國媒體《周日泰晤士報》(The Sunday Times)取得的機密文件顯示他操控選舉，在選民登記冊上動手腳，收買選舉觀察員的骯髒伎倆盡出，全靠有中資背景的鑽石開採公司提供高達8億美元，約240億台幣的政治獻金，供他在幕後操盤。

根據文件內容顯示，提供政治獻金的公司包括一家中國投資的鑽石開採商，另一家則是辛巴威資深將領所經營的鑽石開採公司。
 
另外還據傳超過2百萬名年紀30歲以下預計投給反對黨的選民，沒有被登記，還有超過1百萬張的幽靈選票，90萬張有相同姓名地址和身分證號碼的重複選票，加上超過11.6萬選民年紀都超過1百歲，最老還高達135歲，讓人質疑這些選票的真實性。
