蘋果稱此次發佈會將如往常一樣在美國東部時間13點(台灣時間10月17日1點)召開。該公司在邀請函上寫道：It’s been way too long。
這是蘋果公司在今年秋天召開的第二次產品發佈會，很可能利用此次發表會更新其iPad 和 Mac 產品系列。據預計，該公司可能在會上發佈新款 iPad Air 和 iPad mini 。根據了解新款iPad Air將比當前版本略薄，但配備效率更高的A8處理器和來自於iPhone 6的M8晶片，支援Touch ID、增強後的相機功能以及改進後的顯示螢幕設計，並將提供土豪金版。與此同時，新款iPad mini預計也將具備類似的一些新功能。
