小巧的4bay NAS，Synology DS414slim評測

1d02113cfbf8e30987f7abff26786762 誰說可容納 4 顆硬碟的 NAS 體積一定大呢？Synology 近期更新了旗下 2.5 吋 NAS 產品線，推出 DS414slim。最大的特點就是採用 2.5 吋儲存裝置，讓整體體積變小，卻又可擁有較為複雜的 RAID 組態。

2014 年已經過了一半，按照 Synology 群暉科技的命名原則，在 6 月時推出最新 1 款 14 系列的 NAS 命名為 DS414slim。DS414slim 師承前代 DS411slim 的好身材，於不到 2 公升的體積內放入 4 顆硬碟。聰明如你的讀者當然可以立即想到，此系列採用 2.5 吋裝置作為儲存媒體，因此除了硬碟之外（高度 9.5mm 或以下），好野人們也可以使用SSD作為儲存媒體。

此次的更新當然會帶來一些效能和功能上的變動，以下就先看看規格表，再由筆者慢慢闡述……

Synology DS414slim 規格：   

  • 處理器：Marvell ARMADA 370 1.2GHz
  • 記憶體：512MB DDR3
  • 硬碟槽：4bay、1.5TB/bay
  • 連接埠：GbE RJ45 x 2、USB 3.0 x 2
  • 尺寸：120 x 105 x 142（mm）
  • 重量：660g

有感的硬體改進

由於市面上採用 2.5 吋裝置作為儲存空間的 NAS 並不多，即使有，其產品定位也比 DS414slim 低階，因此 DS414slim 要超越的敵人其實是自家老大哥 DS411slim。DS414slim 在外觀尺寸和設計語言上與前代並無太大的不同，能夠認得出來的改進就是 DS411slim 機體中央大面積黑色亮面部分，DS414slim 更改為深灰色，並於塑膠射出原料中參有些需的亮粉。DS411slim 包裝中附贈的底座部分，DS414slim 同樣也保留下來。

另一個外觀上的變更，就是將原先位於機身左上角的電源按鈕變動到左下方，開關高度也明顯與四周機殼低了一些，尺寸也較小。此舉可改善過去 DS411slim 開關位置過於明顯，很容易誤按造成 NAS 服務意外離線的問題。

其它較為明顯的變動，就是加入了 USB 3.0 控制器 EtronTech EJ168A ，提供機身前後方各 1 個 USB 3.0 連接埠，傳輸速度更快。機身背面 I/O 部分則取消了 eSATA 的配置，網路埠反而多了 1 組，現在 DS414slim 可提供 Link Aggregation 網路埠合併頻寬功能，或是同時連接 2 條網路線達成容錯機制。

硬碟安裝方式則和前代相同，由後方抽出硬碟架，使用螺絲鎖上後再推回機身內。散熱風扇部分也做了相當實用的變化，由於 DS411slim 的風扇擺在機身底部，比較容易吸附灰塵降低散熱效果，DS414slim 的散熱風扇雖然也在下方，但與機身固定的方式改為卡榫，輕輕一扳即可卸下，清潔或是更換都比前代方便。

▲硬碟的安裝由機體後方進行，下方為相容 Kensington 鎖孔，右方則為 1 個 USB 3.0、2 組 GbE 級 RJ45 網路埠、電源輸入。


▲硬碟部分需要使用螺絲鎖在架子上，此次測試使用 4 顆 WD Scorpio Blue 160GB 硬碟。


▲底部的風扇為卡榫形式，輕輕一扳即可卸下清理。


▲隨機附贈的底座，底座上方有4個凹槽和機身緊密結合，下方則有大片橡膠減震和增加桌面摩擦力。

以下的拆解動作僅是讓讀者對 Synology DS414slim 有更深的認識，擅自開啟內部會喪失保固，也可能會對使用者造成傷害，請各位讀者不要模仿。


▲內部主要電路板正反面照，線路規劃比起 DS411slim 緊湊很多，同時也可看到 SoC 上覆蓋 1 個散熱片。


▲散熱片焊在主機板上無法拆卸，左上角部分為 DDR3 記憶體，512MB 容量。


▲雙網路部分各由 1 顆 Marvell 88E1512 負責 PHY 部分。


▲SATA 控制器也是老朋友了，Marvell 88SX7042 擁有 4 埠的 SATA 3Gb/s 連接能力。


▲USB 3.0 部分由 EtronTech EJ168A 負責。
