雖然微軟買下了 Nokia，但並無法阻止 Nokia 將觸手伸進 Android 陣營的決心。微軟在 MWC 發表首批 Android 手機 Nokia X 家族，分別為 4 吋螢幕 Nokia X 、Nokia X+ 和 5 吋螢幕 Nokia XL，都是走中低階規格、搭載 Android 和 Windows Phone 雙系統。
Nokia X 家族是定位在入門低階市場的產品，本次發表三款型號，Nokia X 採用 4 吋 800 x 480 螢幕，雙核 1GHz Snapdragon 處理器、512MB RAM、4GB ROM 並可支援 microSD 記憶卡擴充，相機更是只給了 300 萬畫素規格。Nokia X+ 則是提供較大一些的 768MB RAM，並附贈一張 4GB 記憶卡，依舊是相當入門的規格。Nokia X 相當接近 Lumia 520 的定位。
第三款 Nokia XL 從命明上就知道走較大尺寸路線，使用較大的 5 吋 WVGA 規格 IPS 螢幕，還有 768MB RAM 和 4GB 內建儲存容量。另外在相機部分，提供 500 萬畫素主相機、200 萬畫素前置視訊鏡頭。三款 Nokia X 家族產品都是走雙插卡系列。
Nokia X 家族提供 AOSP 開發專案的客製化 Android 系統(類似 Kindle 的方式)，與使用者一般常見到的 Android 有明顯不同。Nokia X 上所見到的 Android 系統介面依舊採動態磚介面，還是看的親近 WP 的味道，Nokia 表示這是延續 Nokia Asha 系列手機的「FastLane」概念，只要在螢幕上滑動就能進行功能切換，像是應用程式列表、來電資訊等內容。

但這套 AOSP Android 恐怕也會讓不少人卻步，因為 Nokia X 將見不到大家預期的各式內建 Google 服務，全改用微軟自家的內容，如 OneDrive、Outloook.com 以及 Here Maps 和 Mix Radio 等應用程式。最重要的是，沒有 Google Play 可使用，使用者得到 Nokia Store 下載 App 使用，Nokia 也將提供應用程式內內購(In-App Payment)、試用後購買(Try & Buy)、電信商小額支付(Operator Billing)等購買形式。
Nokia X 將會在東歐、亞洲、南非等市場推出，Nokia X 很明顯也不是要拿來與高階 iOS 和 Android 機種競爭。售價方面，Nokia X 售價為 89 歐元(約新台幣 3710 元)，Nokia X+ 售價為 99 歐元(約新台幣 4130 元)、將在今年第二季開賣；Nokia XL 售價為 109 歐元(約新台幣 4550 元)。最後，購買 Nokia X 的消費者，微軟還將提供 100GB OneDrive 儲存空間和 1 個月無限撥打 Skype 電話優惠。

一名在南非參觀野生動物園的荷蘭遊客在克魯格國家公園（Kruger National Park）附近小鎮留宿時遭遇搶劫並受到槍擊。據南非警方發言人表示，2月19日凌晨，一群武裝分子衝進這名55歲荷蘭人和他的同伴留宿的房子，搶走他們的睡袋和電視機，並對這名荷蘭人開槍。這名男子在醫院接受治療後出院。該鎮坐落在舉世聞名的克魯格國家公園西南方，每年接收上百萬本地和外國遊客。
