『近段時間，我將要去美國做三件事，第一件是就去洽談收購《紐約時報》。』慈善家、中國黃埔再生資源利用有限公司陳光標走到哪裡，一言一行都會被人們所關注。

根據紅網報導，12月30日，他出現在了深圳市羅湖區彭年酒店4樓會議廳，出席『海外華文傳媒合作組織』和香港文匯報共同舉辦的『2013國際華媒大獎』現場，在獲得『傑出華人』稱號後，他如此發表獲獎感言。

稱要收購《紐約時報》，台下偷笑『放衛星太大了吧』

12月24日夜，陳光標動用了一輛東風大卡車運來一整車、共計16噸百元人民幣，在南京臨時搭建的數公尺高的露天紅帳內『砌』了一個三面『錢牆』和一個『錢桌』的『演播室』，現場宣傳經濟普查。

網路再次一片嘩然。

至於今晚，他再次語出驚人，收購《紐約時報》，引來台下嘉賓及媒體一片愕然，甚至有人偷笑：『放衛星放得太大了吧？！』記者微信朋友圈內也有人對此提出質疑，『標哥的話你也相信？』

據媒體公開報導，陳光標與《紐約時報》的源於2012年8月，陳光標花費約三萬美元在《紐約時報》刊發半版廣告，宣示釣魚台是大陸領土；今年8月5日，陳光標之子陳環境在《紐約時報》刊登廣告，再次宣示釣魚台主權；8月11日，陳光標再次在《紐約時報》上刊登半版廣告，呼籲日本首相安倍晉三不要參拜靖國神社。

公開資料顯示，《紐約時報》(The NewYork Times)有時簡稱為『時報』(The Times)。是一份在美國紐約出版的日報，在全世界發行，有相當的影響力，美國高級報紙/嚴肅刊物的代表，長期以來擁有良好的公信力和權威性。

席間，陳光標在接受記者採訪時對『收購《紐約時報》』一事並未細說，只稱『正在洽談』。匆匆離去後，留了一張名片的陳光標再未接聽記者電話，也未回覆記者諮詢有關收購《紐約時報》的短信。

『在鉅富中死去，是一種恥辱』

在接受記者採訪時，他反倒對大陸企業家如何履行社會責任口若懸河。

他說，他對大陸企業家社會責任有三個層次的認識，一是企業要對人民負責，要對人民生產出安全、可靠的產品，不能坑蒙拐騙，不能污染環境；二是企業家要盡自己可能，多解決一些勞務就業，多繳稅收，不能偷稅漏稅；三是就如標哥一樣，自願、自覺把口袋裡的淨利潤拿出一定比例出來，做一些生態環境保護、扶貧濟困的事，做一些正能量的工作。

『作為一個企業家，就如小平同志說過的，先富幫後富，為我們的社會，做一些我們應有的貢獻。』陳光標說，『財富如水，你有一杯水自己喝，你有一桶水，可以自己放在家裡，當你有一條河流，你就要學會與他人共同分享。』

『俗話說，錢財如糞土，生不帶來死不帶走，生活活在人們尊重中的慈善家，比孤獨死在存折單上的守財奴光榮、偉大。』陳光標說，他還引用了美國『鋼鐵大王』卡內基說過一句名言，『在鉅富中死去，是一種恥辱』。
