「大部分會鬧的是家屬。」台灣急診管理學會理事長陳日昌表示，多數醫院暴力常是家屬著急、不耐久候，常因此關係緊張，此時，醫病若有一方態度不佳，容易引起言語或肢體衝突。

「急診動線分流是防暴首務。」陳日昌認為，急診應仿照門診設置獨立看診專區，並配備桌椅，強調看病的空間感、隱私感及莊嚴氛圍，就像民眾到法院會肅然起敬、不敢造次。但目前急診室病患與家屬混雜，如同菜市場，反而不利醫護人員急救治療。

台灣醫療勞動正義與病人安全促進聯盟理事長張志華表示，國內急診室屬於開放空間，新光醫院做法是在急診檢傷分類區域裝置攝影機，並張貼告示該區廿四小時錄影及警民連線。

另外，張志華說，院方讓五名護理師佩戴防暴表，該配備就像警報器，按鈕後可直接連線門外保全人員，一分鐘內至少有二至三人可抵達現場維護秩序；一旦保全發覺情況不對，他們身上也有警民連線裝置，病患家屬看到支援人力趕到，情緒會稍微收斂。

除醫院自保措施外，衛生福利部醫事司司長李偉強表示，衛福部正推動防暴五招，包括保全警衛駐守、警民連線、監視器錄影、針對潛在危險病患的防暴教育處置訓練及急診動線區隔、門禁管制等措施。

巴克萊今(9)日指出，經過表現平穩的2013年，台灣於2014及2015年的經濟表現值得期待，並且上調2014年經濟成長率(GDP)，由原先預估的3.1%調整至3.5%，巴克萊預期台灣2013年的全年通膨率1.8%，2014年通膨率會較高，房價也有上升的可能。

行政院主計處公布數據，台灣11月份消費者物價指數(CPI)年增率為0.7%，也是連續第7個月CPI指數低於1%，巴克萊觀察，較低的核心物價指數(-0.1%)是造成低CPI的主要原因。另外，蔬果的供應量仍舊受到今年颱風季的影響，價格水準較高，油價與電價也有微幅上升的情況。

11月份為年末採購季節的開端，巴克萊觀察，今年非必須消費品及服務價格較往年為低(非必須消費品包含衣服、鞋類、居家用品及娛樂)，因此今年整體消費市場提供的優惠更多元，除了提供全店商品9折到7折的優惠，還另外搭配滿額集點或贈禮活動，以刺激消費市場需求。

巴克萊預期，在整體市場的帶動以及消費者信心轉強的影響下，2014年房屋價格也有上升的可能。由於目前央行利率仍維持在較低的水準1.875%，加上市場自然機制及資金動能性充足，巴克萊維持央行今年利率不變的預測。
