Kobo閱讀器印度開賣 與Kindle另闢戰場

日本樂天集團旗下Kobo公司的數位閱讀器已在印度開賣，將與亞馬遜（Amazon）的Kindle直接競爭。

華爾街日報報導，Kobo在印度販售四款數位閱讀器，售價介於6,999盧比（110美元）與1萬3,999盧比之間。Kobo裝置部門執行副總裁兼總經理懷特（Wayne White）說，Kobo的數位閱讀器已在15個國家開賣，印度是第16國。

懷特也說，全球約有1,600萬人使用Kobo的數位閱讀器，且人數仍在快速成長。

除亞馬遜外，Kobo的競爭對手還包括邦諾（Barnes & Noble ）的Nook電子書閱讀器，以及大螢幕平板電腦和智慧手機。

研究業者顧能（Gartner）預測，電子書閱讀器銷售今年攀至2,710萬台的頂峰後，2016年將降至2,110萬台，反映遭遇平板電腦的激烈競爭。
