usher in是新聞用語,意思是to make an activity or process begin,如:
The talks ushered in a new era of international co-operation.
usher這個字的動詞原意是to lead someone politely somewhere, for example into a room or towards a seat
而這個字的名詞是指帶人就座的人(如戲院裡)
所以你寫的You can usher in a future...可能有語病:帶入一個未來?(a future當usher in的受詞?)
下列的邏輯才合理:
... a unique opportunity to usher in a new era of stability in Enrope.
You drea will come true one day.(缺了true,語意不完整)
stand your ground有兩種狀況:
(1) If you stand you ground or hold your ground, you continue to support a particular arguement or to have a particular opinion when other people are opposing you or trying to make you change your mind.
(2) If you stand you ground or hold your ground, you do not run away from a situation, but face it bravely.
你所說的狀況,是第二項。
