圖片如何將背景透明化

我現在用的軟體是photoimpact x3

我想將一個圖片以物件的方式儲存下來

而不像JPG會有白色背景

上網查了一下，大家都說以GIF儲存就好

我的做法是:

點"開新影像"，將底色勾選"透明"，調整大小按確定

接下來用套索工具將原圖片部分選取(或其他選取工具，總之選出來非矩形)

移動選取的物件至網格狀的透明基底上。

最後就是存檔了，

問題是當我檔案類型選擇GIF時，按下確定它就會出現

"您選擇的檔案格式不支援目前的檔案類型。若您選擇繼續執行，影像資料將轉換成適當的檔案類型。是否繼續執行?"

以及

"所選擇的檔案格式並不能儲存物件，如果您選了『繼續』，所有的物件都會合併到基底影像上，是否要繼續執行？"

如果我都按確定的話，就換變成跟JPG一樣的白色背景

請問到底要如何才能將背景透明化?
