1月13日，人民解放軍第三批援塞醫療隊在北京舉行出征儀式，新婚不到20天的王小艾將隨隊奔赴獅子山抗擊伊波拉一線。丈夫高天特意趕來送行，小艾一臉幸福地看著愛人為自己戴上出征的光榮花。

根據新華網報導，當記者問他為什麼趕在出征前結婚時，高天說：『為了讓小艾安心，她回來我會為她補一個蜜月。』 熱鬧的出征儀式結束了，小艾趴在即將分別的愛人肩頭，沒有忍住眼淚。高天一次次為她擦去淚水。直到有同事打趣說：『把高天也打包，去非洲度蜜月吧！』小艾才破涕為笑。
