李光耀逝世　台灣表達誠摯哀悼

新加坡建國總理李光耀今（23）日凌晨逝世，享壽91歲。外交部表示，中華民國政府表達誠摯哀悼，馬總統及行政院長毛治國已透過我駐新加坡代表處轉達我政府及人民對李光耀逝世的悼唁之意。

外交部指出，李光耀前資政與中華民國關係密切，長期支持我國及兩岸和平發展；李光耀於擔任總理期間及卸任後，共訪華逾25次，對我國相當熟悉與友好。台星關係在兩國傳統情誼上持續發展，更於102年進一步簽署「台星經濟夥伴協定」（Agreement between Singapore and Taiwan on Economic Partnership, ASTEP）。此協定是我國與東南亞國家及我前10大貿易夥伴簽訂的第一個經濟夥伴協定，李光耀致力奠定的台星友好基礎，功不可沒。

李光耀政自1965年新加坡建國擔任總理至1990年，執政期間治國有方，奠定新加坡經濟、教育、廉政、社會福利等各項基礎，使星國成為人民富足、政府廉能的國家。1990年至2011年，，李光耀先後擔任星國國務資政及內閣資政，持續為新加坡國家的發展方向提出建言，可說是終其一生為星國社稷謀福利。
