台北市8日高溫飆到39.3度，破了台北觀測站自西元1896年設站以來最高的紀錄；氣象局預報課課長陳怡良表示，這主要是因為高氣壓壟罩台灣，氣流下沉讓地面加熱效率加劇所致，此外，台北市盆地地形又與海風不易調節的關係，才會出現如此極端溫度。中央研究院地球科學研究員汪中和判斷，這樣的高溫會變成常態，未來極有可能打破40度的紀錄。

勞工在攝氏39.3度高溫環境下工作，引發疾病的機率會相對增加，尤其是從事勞動、營造、道路及室外電線桿維修等作業，因此，民眾反映盼放熱浪假，但行政院勞委會勞動條件處8日對此回應表示，並未研議。

台北市氣象站在西元1896年設於台北市公園路，至今已有117年歷史。台北市8日中午出現攝氏39.3度高溫，打破台北市氣象站設站以來紀錄。根據氣象局紀錄，台北市的高溫多數出現在近10年，原本最高溫是2003年8月9日38.8度，其次是2003年8月8日的38.7度。

陳怡良指出，由於最近大陸地區也被熱空氣壟罩，8日類似的系統其邊緣也剛好接觸到台灣陸地，他認為，這應該也是台北市飆高溫的原因之一；他預估，9日的天氣型態會跟8日一樣，但10日開始溫度就不會出現如此極端，但整個天氣型態轉化可能要等到12、13日以後，屆時台灣陸地會比較潮濕，高溫也就不會如此高。

汪中和表示，台北市飆高溫主要是因為氣候暖化的關係，而且這樣的高溫會變成常態，換句話說，就是夏天的溫度會越來越高，而且現在只是個開始，未來台北市極有可能會打破40度的紀錄，這是台灣將來一定要去面對的。

汪中和分析，以長期增溫速率來說，台北市是全台灣增溫最快的地方，主要是因為人口過度集中、發展過度飽和，所以熱能不容易消散。

他進一步指出，這種熱氣不但存在我們的大氣層裡面，也存在我們的建築物裡面，甚至還存在台北的地層裡面；他強調，以現況來說，台北市像是一個蒸籠，上下左右都是熱源。在此情況下，汪中和建議政府應該在台北市多種樹來散熱，每個人也要隨時保持涼爽，不要讓身體的熱能增加，以避免中暑傷害到健康。

該廣告以黃底黑字為主，放在寬廣的地鐵站階梯上，上頭寫著「邊走邊用手機，很危險」，呼籲民眾盡量在行走時不要使用手機，該廣告將刊登至18日。
