天津市濱海新區與臺灣新竹市在天津簽署友好交流合作備忘錄。天津市市長黃興國在天津迎賓館會見了新竹市市長許明財，雙方就深化兩地交流合作關係，厚植利益，達成共識。

根據中新社報導，黃興國介紹天津經濟社會發展情況時稱，當前天津發展正處在一個重要時期。天津正在加快建設國際港口城市、北方經濟中心和生態城市，濱海新區開發開放納入了國家總體發展戰略，成為繼深圳特區、浦東新區之後，帶動區域經濟發展的第三增長極。他歡迎臺灣朋友到天津投資興業，與天津共用機遇，與濱海新區合作共贏。

許明財表示，天津濱海新區的發展潛力巨大，前景廣闊。新竹市距大陸僅68公里，近日獲評臺灣『安居樂業城市』和『幸福城市』，希望兩地優勢互補，深化各領域的務實合作。

當日，天津市濱海新區與臺灣新竹市簽署友好交流合作備忘錄，冀推動兩地經濟、貿易，文化、藝術，教育、衛生，觀光旅遊等領域的交流與合作，增進兩地民眾了解。

臺灣新竹市市長許明財一行38人，於13日抵達天津。在津期間，許明財一行參加了在濱海新區舉行的第四屆大陸(天津濱海)國際生態城市論壇暨博覽會，與濱海新區共同舉辦了科技合作與產業對接洽談會，並參訪了中新天津生態城、國家動漫園、台資企業等。
