（中央社馬德里18日綜合外電報導）西班牙國王璜‧卡羅斯一世（Juan Carlos）今天晚間簽署法案正式退位，王儲菲利佩王子（Felipe）繼位。因為國家經濟不佳，不會有盛大慶祝儀式。

西班牙失業率高，民眾生活困苦，但璜‧卡羅斯一世卻到非洲獵象，引起爭議，加上王室爆發貪腐醜聞，使得菲利佩王子如履薄冰。

菲利佩王子似乎很想展現與民同在，並避免重蹈璜‧卡羅斯一世覆轍。他登基不會舉行國宴，不會邀請外國王室與元首觀禮，不舉行豪華儀式或遊行。
