嘉義市定古蹟嘉邑城隍廟今年消災解厄儀式結合城隍夜巡，辦理「夯枷儀式」消業植福活動，下午有超過300位民眾掛著紙作的四角枷鎖，有如古代押解犯人一樣遊街示眾。
 
廟方表示，「夯」是將東西扛肩膀，「枷」為古代囚犯人鐐銬刑具，古人做錯事想懺悔或發願未做到，會到城隍廟以「夯枷」向城隍爺贖罪，表現洗心革面決心，具驅邪解厄功用；演變至今，信眾若身體不適、運勢不順，皆可在城隍爺面前許願，以「夯枷」消業障、求平安。這也是城隍廟50年來首次舉辦的活動。
