貧血，一般認知是缺鐵，但1名31歲虞姓女子最後才被診斷出是大腸癌第3期，導致長期慢性缺鐵性貧血。

今日出版的《中國時報》報導，虞女曾赴多家醫院求診，月經量正常但體重稍變輕，未補充鐵劑前糞便偶有血絲，因以往有輕微痔瘡，也對缺鐵性貧血不以為意，以為多補充營養就好，鐵劑補充後有所改善，但不久後症狀又復發。，最後被診斷出是大腸癌第3期。

醫師指出，一些血液惡性疾病，像是多發性骨髓瘤、血癌以及淋巴癌，也有可能以貧血做為初步表現。貧血可能是身體發出警訊與癌症先兆，應找出造成貧血病因。（即時新聞中心／綜合報導）
