美國總統歐巴馬(Barack Obama)接受《時人》雜誌(People)專訪時表示，入主白宮前曾自己都曾遭遇過種族歧視，有人在餐廳門口拿出車鑰匙給他，叫他幫忙停車，還有人要身穿燕尾服的他去買咖啡。

「非裔人士總被人當成是泊車服務生」，身為美國首位非裔總統的歐巴馬說，他也遇過有人把車鑰匙給他的經驗。第一夫人蜜雪兒(Michelle Obama)也說：「歐巴馬曾經穿著燕尾服出席正式晚宴時，被人叫他去買咖啡。」

蜜雪兒回憶曾「微服出巡」華府一家百貨公司時，一名婦人希望蜜雪兒幫忙拿貨架上的東西，因為那名婦人當她是售貨員。

美國近期發生多起黑人遭白人警察盤查槍殺或暴力致死事件，但法院判決均不予起訴，引起大規模暴動與族裔關係緊張。歐巴馬夫婦認為，美國種族歧視情況有改善，但仍有改善空間。（於慶中／綜合外電報導）
