花蓮縣鳳林鎮花東公路坪林陸橋下午3點發生一起兩車對撞車禍，造成4死1傷。其中一輛銀色轎車由郭姓女子駕駛，車上4人全是女性，包含在台北榮民總醫院鳳林分院任職的曹女、曹女母親和女兒祖孫三代。黑色轎車黃姓駕駛則是本屆鎮民代表參選人。現場除了5歲女童奇蹟似僅受輕傷外，其餘4人均送命。

鳳林警分局表示，今天下午3時多，在花東公路坪林陸橋南端下坡處，南北向兩輛疑似因為超車對撞，銀色轎車上4人皆為親屬關係，有2人當場被夾死車內；下坡的黑色轎車黃姓駕駛則全身多處骨折，原本還可自行爬出車外打電話給太太，送醫途中疑似因內出血昏迷，急救後仍不治。

銀色車內43歲曹姓女子，在鳳林榮民醫服務9年多，被送往鳳林榮民醫院急救時，護理人員一見傷者竟是平常一起工作同事，不禁含淚急救，無奈仍回天乏術，院內氣氛一片低迷，眾人都相當不捨。
